Peter Airey died instantly when shot in the head by terrorists while driving a 3-ton truck on the Tel-el-Kebir - Moascar road. His escort, trained driver J. L. Cooper, took the wheel and drove back through the ambush in an attempt to take Private Airley to a British Military Hospital by the shortest route. It was recommended that J. L. Cooper be 'Mentioned in Dispatches' but no award was granted.

Arthur Davie and Samuel Warboys were killed by a bomb. The explosion took place by the YMCA Bridge at 2.30pm on 19 Jan 1952 involving an orange-barrow.

I was in the canal zone in 1954-56 and recently revisited the military cemeteries at Fayid, Moascar and Tel-El-Kabir. Enclosed are photos of Lincolnshire Regiment graves if of interest.
